In art, an Armature is the underlying, unseen, supporting component for something else. This framework provides structure and stability in a work of art.
Armature is a diverse collective of artists brought together by the common thread of expression. We communicate through mediums as varied as we are as individuals. Paint, ink, pencils, photographs, dance and words are the underlying structure, or armature if you will, used to produce the language with which we speak. Though each of us has our own voice, those voices are joined in solidarity and the message is clear, “There is more to what you see than meets the eye…”
Armature is the confluence where all of those things meet the eye. It is up to you the observer to see beyond them and discover their greater meaning.
